Roland F. Chase, "of counsel" to Miller Scott & Holbrook, advises and assists the firm primarily in zoning and land use law, consumer law (including warranties, automobile leases, consumer credit and debt collection), and appellate practice. Mr. Chase also supervises the firm's law library, acts as webmaster for the firm's website and intranet, and does much of the legal research on major cases.
Mr. Chase is a graduate of Wheaton College (Illinois) and the University of California (Berkeley) Law School. He is a retired professor in the School of Justice Studies at Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island, and is the author of the Rhode Island Zoning Handbook and numerous other local and national legal publications.
His most recent article, published in the Rhode Island Bar Journal in the January/February, 2003, issue is entitled Nonconforming Uses: Who Can Tell Whether They Even Exist?.
